The Old Oak Forged Hunter is a handcrafted hunting and bushcraft knife combining traditional forging techniques with reclaimed materials that each carry their own history.
The blade is entirely hand-forged from an old steel chisel. Its distinctive surface texture was created using a rounded hammer, leaving visible marks from the forging process. The blade is then carefully hand-sanded, creating a contrast between the textured steel and the clean, finished surfaces.
With an 11 cm blade, 4 mm spine, and a sharp cutting edge, the knife is designed for general outdoor use, from woodcarving and bushcraft tasks to hunting-related cutting work.
The handle is made from reclaimed oak, recovered from an old wooden beam found in an abandoned building in Umbria. The aged wood is combined with two brass spacers and a piece of historic leather, originally part of a drive belt from a 19th-century sawmill.
These materials give the knife a distinctive appearance while preserving a small part of their history in a functional, handmade object.
The knife comes with a carefully crafted black leather sheath, made to protect the blade during storage and transport.
