The Olive Wood Whittler is a compact, hand-forged carving knife designed for comfort, control, and versatility.
Each blade is forged from spring steel and carefully ground thin behind the cutting edge for effortless cutting through wood. The narrow, pointed blade allows precise detail work, while the cutting geometry also makes it suitable for rough shaping and removing larger amounts of material.
Particular attention has been given to comfort during long carving sessions. The olive wood handles are smoothly rounded and shaped to sit naturally in the hand, without uncomfortable edges or pressure points. The blade spines are also rounded, making it more comfortable to apply pressure with the thumb during controlled cuts.
The result is a simple, practical carving knife designed to remain comfortable even after hours of use.
Each knife comes with a handmade, hand-stitched Puukko-style leather sheath to protect the blade during storage and transport.
All three knives share the same basic design but differ slightly in their dimensions. Each is individually handmade and has its own unique olive wood grain.
Whittler No. 2 is the exact knife featured in my making video.
