The Diagonal Ladder Hunter is a handcrafted fixed-blade knife combining traditional Damascus forging with a practical design for hunting and outdoor use.
The blade is forged from 268 layers of Damascus steel, arranged in a diagonal ladder pattern. This pattern is created through additional forging and manipulation of the layered steel, producing the distinctive lines that run diagonally across the blade.
A deep acid etch brings out the contrast between the layers and gives the blade a pronounced, textured appearance. The finished surface is protected with carnauba wax.
The 12 cm blade features a full flat grind, providing good cutting performance for a wide range of tasks, from preparing food and processing game to general outdoor cutting. A distal taper gradually reduces the blade thickness toward the tip, improving balance and control while retaining strength near the handle.
The hidden-tang handle is made from steamed acacia wood, chosen for its natural grain and warm appearance. A mild steel guard and leather spacer create a transition between blade and handle. Two pins secure the hidden tang, adding mechanical stability to the construction.
The knife comes with a handmade black leather pouch sheath, entirely hand-stitched and decorated with traditional leather tooling.
Each element, from the forged Damascus pattern to the handle construction and leatherwork, is made with attention to both function and appearance.
